Love field used to be the main airline terminal for Dallas. The major
airline was Braniff. For those of you that remember, the interior of the terminal
had a huge open area and Braniff was on one side and the baggage area was
across this large open rotunda.
I had left Humble Oil & Refining Company a couple of years earlier,
started my own business and was now an Independent Agent for several
companies, the major one being Premier Industrial Corporation out of Cleveland,
Ohio. I still lived in San Jose but most, if not all my customers were in the East
Texas and Western Louisiana areas except for Campbell Soup in Paris.
For 2 years I commuted from the SF airport to fly to either Dallas or
Houston. I would leave on Sunday evening or early Monday morning and return
late on Friday evening. I spent many hours in Love field waiting for planes to
either Houston or back home to San Jose.
